AUC Faculty Profile Cards Suarez Gonzalez Lismary

Suarez Gonzalez, Lismary | Physics

Since a young age, I have had a strong passion for mathematics.

During high school, particularly in my early physics classes, I became fascinated by how the mathematics I enjoyed could be applied to explain everyday phenomena.

This discovery sparked an insatiable curiosity to better understand how the universe works, ultimately motivating me to pursue the study of physics.

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from the University of Havana in 2017, followed by a Master’s Degree in Physical Sciences in 2020.

From 2017 to 2022, I worked as a Junior Researcher at the Institute of Mathematics, Cybernetics, and Physics in Havana, Cuba.

My research focused primarily on Theoretical Physics, including areas such as High-Energy Physics and Astrophysics.

The project I contributed to at this institution received significant recognition in Cuba, earning two prestigious awards:

  • Cuban Agency for Nuclear Energy and Advanced Technologies (AENTA) Award for the most notable Cuban scientific accomplishments in 2020.
  • Cuban Academy of Sciences National Award for the most remarkable Cuban scientific achievements in 2020.

Having decided to transition into a teaching career, my goal is to share my enthusiasm and unique perspective on physics.

By doing so, I hope to inspire others to embrace scientific curiosity and to show that physics can be both interesting and fun.
