On February 9, 2026, in the historic Senate Chamber of the Hellenic Parliament, Archimedean Schools received the first and highest honor ever bestowed upon our institution by the Hellenic Republic. The ceremony took place on the inaugural celebration of World Greek Language Day, proclaimed by UNESCO in 2025 — a moment of global recognition for the Greek language and its enduring contribution to civilization. On this historic day, Greece did not simply recognize a school. It recognized a mission. It recognized responsibility. It recognized a model of education that carries Hellenism beyond borders.A Ceremony of National and Academic Significance
The honorary ceremony was formally approved by the President of the Hellenic Parliament, Nikitas Kaklamanis, and recommended by the Rector of the University of Piraeus, Professor Michail Sfakianakis, who also presides over the Council of Rectors of all Greek Universities. The unexpected and significant presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, George Gerapetritis, elevated the ceremony further, underscoring the diplomatic and national importance of Archimedean’s work abroad. During our visit on February 9th, three distinct honors were awarded to us:- The Silver Medal of the Hellenic Parliament
- An Honorary Distinction from the University of Piraeus
- An Official Honorary Award from the Council (Synod) of Rectors of All Greek Universities
The Voice of the Nation
The ceremony unfolded as a progression of national affirmation — cultural, diplomatic, academic, institutional, and visionary.I. The Hellenic Parliament
President Nikitas Kaklamanis declared:“The Greek language is not exclusively the property of one people or one geographical area. It is a common good and a value of global cultural heritage.”He further honored Archimedean’s work abroad:
“In this complex and demanding environment, Archimedean Academy offers answers in practice — creating the conditions so that the Greek language is not merely an object of learning, but a lived experience connecting generations.”
II. The Diplomatic Impact
Minister of Foreign Affairs George Gerapetritis stated:“No diplomatic effort can reach the level of penetration that education of this type achieves abroad… Ninety-five percent of its students are of non-Greek origin — and in the future, they become true ambassadors of Greece.”And with unmistakable gravity, he concluded:
“The homeland is grateful to you.”
III. Academic Legitimacy and National Recognition
Rector Michail Sfakianakis affirmed:“In the heart of Florida, Archimedean Academy is a bright beacon of Hellenism… The Parliament represents the entire Greek people, and today’s honor carries the character of collective national recognition.”
IV. The Archimedean Mission
In his address before the Parliament, Dr. George Kafkoulis, CEO and Superintendent, articulated:“To preserve the Greek language abroad, we must offer it to the whole society with innovative and authentic models… Archimedean is the most innovative idea for the spread of Greek culture in public education within a multicultural society.”
V. The Founding Vision
Aleco Haralambides, President and Chairman of the Board, reflected:“The original question was simple: How will our children learn Greek? But it quickly became something greater — how will Hellenism survive?”He challenged the nation with a vision for the future:
“Imagine not one Archimedean Academy, but one hundred.”
A Moment for Archimedean Pride
This ceremony was not symbolic alone. It affirmed that:- Greek language education abroad is a matter of national importance.
- Archimedean Schools represent a sustainable and replicable model.

This marks the first and highest recognition of Archimedean Schools by the Hellenic Republic. On the first-ever World Greek Language Day, in the Parliament of Greece, before national leaders and academic authorities, Archimedean Schools were affirmed as:A beacon. A bridge. A model. El 9 de febrero de 2026, en la histórica Cámara del Senado del Parlamento Helénico, las Escuelas Archimedean recibieron el primer y más alto honor jamás otorgado a nuestra institución por la República Helénica.
La ceremonia tuvo lugar durante la celebración inaugural del Día Mundial de la Lengua Griega, proclamado por la UNESCO en 2025 — un momento de reconocimiento global para la lengua griega y su contribución perdurable a la civilización.
En este día histórico, Grecia no simplemente reconoció a una escuela.
Reconoció una misión.
Reconoció una responsabilidad.
Reconoció un modelo educativo que lleva el Helenismo más allá de las fronteras.
Una Ceremonia de Significado Nacional y Académico
La ceremonia honorífica fue aprobada formalmente por el Presidente del Parlamento Helénico, Nikitas Kaklamanis, y recomendada por el Rector de la Universidad del Pireo, Profesor Michail Sfakianakis, quien además preside el Consejo de Rectores de todas las Universidades Griegas.
La presencia inesperada y significativa del Ministro de Asuntos Exteriores, George Gerapetritis, elevó aún más la ceremonia, subrayando la importancia diplomática y nacional de la labor de Archimedean en el extranjero.
Durante nuestra visita el 9 de febrero, se nos otorgaron tres distinciones:
- La Medalla de Plata del Parlamento Helénico
- Una Distinción Honorífica de la Universidad del Pireo
- Un Premio Honorífico Oficial del Consejo (Sínodo) de Rectores de Todas las Universidades Griegas
Este reconocimiento colectivo — legislativo, gubernamental y académico — consolida la importancia histórica de la misión educativa de las Escuelas Archimedean de introducir a las mentes jóvenes en el arte de pensar.
En nombre de las Escuelas Archimedean, cinco miembros del liderazgo recibieron los galardones: Dr. George Kafkoulis, Sr. Aleco Haralambides, Sr. Lambros Katsoufis, Sr. Demetrios Demopoulos y Sr. Dimitri Bardoutsos.
La Voz de la Nación
La ceremonia se desarrolló como una afirmación nacional progresiva — cultural, diplomática, académica, institucional y visionaria.
I. El Parlamento Helénico
El Presidente Nikitas Kaklamanis declaró:
“La lengua griega no es propiedad exclusiva de un solo pueblo o de una sola área geográfica. Es un bien común y un valor del patrimonio cultural global.”
Además, honró la labor de Archimedean en el extranjero:
“En este entorno complejo y exigente, la Academia Archimedean ofrece respuestas en la práctica — creando las condiciones para que la lengua griega no sea simplemente un objeto de aprendizaje, sino una experiencia vivida que conecta generaciones.”
II. El Impacto Diplomático
El Ministro de Asuntos Exteriores George Gerapetritis afirmó:
“Ningún esfuerzo diplomático puede alcanzar el nivel de penetración que logra una educación de este tipo en el extranjero… El noventa y cinco por ciento de sus estudiantes son de origen no griego — y en el futuro, se convierten en verdaderos embajadores de Grecia.”
Y con inconfundible solemnidad, concluyó:
“La patria les está agradecida.”
III. Legitimidad Académica y Reconocimiento Nacional
El Rector Michail Sfakianakis afirmó:
“En el corazón de Florida, la Academia Archimedean es un faro brillante del Helenismo… El Parlamento representa a todo el pueblo griego, y el honor de hoy tiene el carácter de un reconocimiento nacional colectivo.”
IV. La Misión Archimedean
En su discurso ante el Parlamento, el Dr. George Kafkoulis, CEO y Superintendente, articuló:
“Para preservar la lengua griega en el extranjero, debemos ofrecerla a toda la sociedad con modelos innovadores y auténticos… Archimedean es la idea más innovadora para la difusión de la cultura griega en la educación pública dentro de una sociedad multicultural.”
V. La Visión Fundacional
Aleco Haralambides, Presidente y Chairman de la Junta Directiva, reflexionó:
“La pregunta original era simple: ¿Cómo aprenderán griego nuestros hijos? Pero rápidamente se convirtió en algo mayor — ¿cómo sobrevivirá el Helenismo?”
Y desafió a la nación con una visión para el futuro:
“Imaginen no una Academia Archimedean, sino cien.”
Un Momento de Orgullo para Archimedean
- La educación de la lengua griega en el extranjero es un asunto de importancia nacional.
- Las Escuelas Archimedean representan un modelo sostenible y replicable.
- La educación sirve como diplomacia cultural del más alto orden.
- El Helenismo no está limitado por la geografía.
En una cámara donde se promulgan leyes y se registra la historia, Archimedean fue reconocida como una extensión viva del patrimonio intelectual y cultural griego.
Esto no es simplemente un honor. Es una responsabilidad.
Un Hito Histórico
Este acontecimiento marca el primer y más alto reconocimiento de las Escuelas Archimedean por parte de la República Helénica.
En el primer Día Mundial de la Lengua Griega, en el Parlamento de Grecia, ante líderes nacionales y autoridades académicas, las Escuelas Archimedean fueron reconocidas como:
Un faro. Un puente. Un modelo. Una responsabilidad.
