Archimedean Academy’s Mental Mathematics Competition 2015

Mental Math Competition December 2015

On December 17 2015 students in grades 3-5 participated in a Mental Math Oral Competition in Greek. Mental calculation comprises arithmetical calculations using only the human brain, with no help from calculators, computers, or pen and paper

In order to select the five best from each section who participated in the mental math competition, the kids participated in timed written and oral tests in their class. In the course of the Competition, our students did not even see the numbers, they just heard the problems in greek and they would provide an answer verbally, using buzzers, so we would accurately select the fastest.
