Dear Archimedean Community,
In the spirit of recognizing, and celebrating the humanities at Archimedean, we are proud to share another historic win for the spring season—Archimedean Upper Conservatory’s Ethics Bowl team top three placement in this month’s NHSEB National Championship for the first time in Archimedean history. As the only Florida school competing in nationals, AUC represented us proudly throughout the whole season, shining a light on our students’ grit and pursuit of ethics as a communications skill, in both academia and daily exchanges.
Season Recap
At the start of the season, AUC showed up strong, with consistently high placements across the board. This past January, we highlighted the results of the regional competition for Palm Beach County 1st and 2nd place finishes, which was followed by the divisional win over Louisiana, and qualification for nationals. Among the roster of schools competing nationally, AUC was not only the only Floridian school but was also amongst a handful of schools represented in the southeastern region of the country.
Team Story & Recognition
Climbing from 12th place to 3rd place in one year is a true testament of the motivation of our students and mentors at Archimedean, including their willingness to showcase growth and progress. Quite notably, a few of our original competing students experienced conflicts with other competitions this season, which triggered other students to step up to the plate. Even with the quick assembly of a new team—incorporating three exceptional students from our second-place regional team—these students developed a clear, winning formula.
With the guidance and steady commitment of AUC’s Ms. Liset Torres, a couple of our students have been involved from the start: Anaya Shah (11) and Daniel Guerra (11) have been active members of the club since their freshman year, completing in three consecutive seasons. Joining for his second year, Dylan Suster Sanchez (11) also joins Anaya and Daniel as part of last year’s national team. First time competitors who stepped up to the plate include Parshvi Gala (10) and Elizabeth Molina (9).
It is important to also highlight the instrumental contributions from the following students: Elizabeth Morales (9), Matthew Londono (12), Derek Gonzalez (12), Gabriella Rosa (11), and Radhika Kotecha (11).
Humanities For the Win
At Archimedean, there are various instances that illustrate our incredible diversity—of students, subjects, and student clubs. Our academic formula is intended to provide our students with not only a well balanced school environment, but one that continues to challenge them to think beyond the borders of our school campus. Whether it’s through the Ethics Bowl, Ethics Olympiad, Model UN, or the History Bee, the strength of humanities is clear and shows up in moments that matter.
We’d like to extend a warm congratulations to all the aforementioned students and mentor, Ms. Torres, for pushing Archimedean to new heights.

En el espíritu de reconocer y celebrar las humanidades en Archimedean, nos enorgullece compartir otra victoria histórica para la temporada de primavera: el equipo de Ethics Bowl de Archimedean Upper Conservatory obtuvo un lugar entre los tres primeros en el Campeonato Nacional de la NHSEB de este mes, por primera vez en la historia de Archimedean. Como la única escuela de Florida que compitió a nivel nacional, AUC nos representó con orgullo durante toda la temporada, destacando la fortaleza de nuestros estudiantes y su búsqueda de la ética como una habilidad de comunicación, tanto en el ámbito académico como en las interacciones cotidianas.
Resumen de la Temporada
Al comienzo de la temporada, AUC se presentó con gran solidez, obteniendo consistentemente posiciones destacadas en todas las competencias. El pasado enero, compartimos los resultados de la competencia regional del condado de Palm Beach, donde logramos el 1.er y 2.º lugar, seguido por la victoria divisional frente a Louisiana y la clasificación al campeonato nacional.
Entre las escuelas que compitieron a nivel nacional, AUC no solo fue la única escuela de Florida, sino también una de las pocas representantes de la región sureste del país.
Historia del Equipo y Reconocimiento
Pasar del 12.º al 3.er lugar en un solo año es una verdadera muestra de la motivación de nuestros estudiantes y mentores en Archimedean, incluyendo su disposición para demostrar crecimiento y progreso.
Cabe destacar que algunos de nuestros estudiantes originales tuvieron conflictos con otras competencias esta temporada, lo que llevó a otros estudiantes a dar un paso al frente. Incluso con la rápida conformación de un nuevo equipo —que incorporó a tres estudiantes excepcionales de nuestro equipo regional que obtuvo el segundo lugar—, estos estudiantes desarrollaron una fórmula clara y ganadora.
Con la guía y el compromiso constante de la Sra. Liset Torres, algunos de nuestros estudiantes han estado involucrados desde el inicio: Anaya Shah (11) y Daniel Guerra (11) han sido miembros activos del club desde su primer año de preparatoria, participando en tres temporadas consecutivas.

Las Humanidades Triunfan
En Archimedean, hay diversas instancias que ilustran nuestra increíble diversidad: de estudiantes, de materias y de clubes estudiantiles. Nuestra fórmula académica está diseñada para ofrecer a nuestros estudiantes no solo un entorno escolar equilibrado, sino también uno que continúe desafiándolos a pensar más allá de los límites de nuestro campus.
Ya sea a través de Ethics Bowl, Ethics Olympiad, Model UN o History Bee, la fortaleza de las humanidades es clara y se manifiesta en los momentos que realmente importan.
Queremos extender una cálida felicitación a todos los estudiantes mencionados, así como a la mentora, la Sra. Torres, por llevar a Archimedean a nuevas alturas.
