Galouka, Athina | Greek Language

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Classical Philology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece.

She also earned a Master’s Degree in Teaching Greek as a Second/Foreign Language (Excellent with Merit) from the University of Nicosia, Cyprus.

Additionally, she completed a Professional Certificate in Teaching Greek as a Heritage Language through the Democritus University of Thrace in collaboration with the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America (March 2022 – December 2022).

She also earned a Professional Certificate in Leadership of Greek-Language Educational Institutions Abroad, awarded by the National Centre for Public Administration and Local Government under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Education, Greece (April 2025).

She attained B1-level proficiency in Biblical Hebrew between 2014 and 2016.

Athina is an experienced educator with more than 35 years of experience in secondary education across Greece and the United States.

Her areas of specialization include Modern Greek, Ancient Greek, Literature, History, Latin, and Philosophy.

She has extensive experience in both private and public education systems, including 20 years at Kosteas-Geitonas School.

She also served at the Directorate of Secondary Education under the Ministry of Education in Athens, Greece, and worked as an official examiner for the Greek University Entrance Exams.

Since 2016, Athina has been teaching at Archimedean Upper Conservatory in Miami, Florida, promoting Greek language, culture, and civilization while contributing to curriculum development from levels A1–C2.

She actively participates in academic and cultural initiatives, including conferences, presentations, and literary work.

Her award-winning literary contribution, “Ithaca: The Modern Destination”, received recognition in 2008.

She is committed to inspiring students, fostering cultural identity, and promoting excellence through education.
