Roussis, Charisse | Grade 6 US History
Charisse Roussis began her teaching career in September 2001, teaching Reading and Math.
Shortly afterward, as a Managing Director, she was responsible for interpreting diagnostic test results, developing and maintaining individualized programs for students, and supervising approximately 30 teachers.
In 2003, after consistently earning placement on the Dean’s List throughout her studies at Nova Southeastern University, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education.
She also earned a Florida Professional Educator’s Certificate with an ESOL Endorsement.
Following graduation, she became a 5th Grade Teacher, teaching all core subjects, including Language Arts, Reading, Math, Social Studies, and Science.
Mrs. Roussis joined Archimedean in August 2004.
At Archimedean, she taught 2nd Grade Language Arts, Reading, Social Studies, and Science.
During this time, she also served as Science Fair Coordinator for three years, worked as a Summer School Teacher for remedial and advanced students in grades Pre-K through 8th, and held the role of Test Chairperson.
In November 2009, she became the Assistant Director of the Archimedean Schools After School Program.
In August 2011, she was appointed Director of the Archimedean Community Center, a position she held for nine years.
In 2019, she returned to the classroom and currently serves as the 6th Grade U.S. History Teacher.
Her professional experience has shaped a teaching philosophy grounded in the understanding that every class is different and every student is unique.
She believes it is essential for educators to appreciate students as individuals and adapt to their diverse learning needs.
Most importantly, she feels her primary responsibility is to instill a love of learning in every child and to teach students how to think.
Her goal is to help each child become a confident and lifelong learner.
