Upper Conservatory’s delegation of Gabon earns award in first ever trip at FHSMUN

From March 18th through the 21st a dozen students of the Upper Conservatory competed for the first time in the history of the school in the Florida High School Model United Nations, the most prestigious of the M.U.N. competitions held in the state. Over 200 delegates worked tirelessly for four consecutive days on debating various global issues.

The end of the conference found Archimedean’s delegation of Gabon (consisted of juniors Candice Calderon, Melissa Martinez, and Diana Rodriguez and freshmen Joshua Baron, Oscar Davila, and Maria Lavdas and their coach Miss Alarcon) celebrating their Honorable Mention Award, one of the only nine team awards given this year at FHSMUN. This marks an amazing beginning for the Upper Conservatory Debate program that started in August.
