Greetings, everyone. I’m Maureen Daniels. I am currently immersed in the captivating world of academia, presently engaged in the pursuit of a Ph.D. in Literature at St. John’s University, nestled in the vibrant heart of New York City.

For the past twelve years, I’ve been on an incredible educational odyssey, embracing the best of both worlds – the scholarly and the creative. Teaching holds a special place in my heart, as I’m fervently dedicated to igniting a passion for academic and creative writing in the bright minds that grace my classrooms.

I hold an M.F.A. in Creative writing from the City University of New York, City College, where I enthusiastically pursued a double major in both poetry and fiction writing. My poems and short stories have found their way into over 300 publications worldwide, and I have received numerous writing awards and fellowships, a testament to my enduring commitment to the craft of the written word.

However, it’s in the classroom that my heart truly comes alive. Teaching is not just a profession for me; it’s a true calling. For over a decade, I’ve had the privilege of guiding students through the realms of creative writing, composition, and literature. Witnessing their growth and helping them discover the excitement of reading and writing is what fuels my passion.

What gives me the greatest satisfaction is knowing that under my tutelage, my students have gone on to achieve remarkable success, graduating from prestigious schools and embarking on academic and creative writing careers of their own. It’s a profound feeling to see the ripple effect of fostering a love for literature and writing in the minds of these young scholars.

Now, here’s where my story takes an exciting twist. In the summer of 2023, I made the bold decision to trade the bustling streets of New York City for the sun-soaked vibes of Miami. Why, you ask? To join the illustrious faculty at Archimedean, of course! It’s a new chapter in my life, and I’m thrilled to continue nurturing the love of literature and writing in the bright young minds of tomorrow.
