For over 15 years Archimedean Community Center (ACC) summer campers have spent their time at play in outdoors and indoors activities designed to help them grow confidently and learn social life skills while having the time of their lives. Indoor fun activities will alert campers’ minds and curiosity, providing them with a well-balanced developmental environment.

Our Goal
We strive to make each Camper’s experience unforgettable. ACC wants our campers to be exactly who they are while challenging themselves in a safe, inclusive, and supportive community. The staff and leadership team encourage campers of all ages to step outside their comfort zone and experience first hand learning alongside their friends. With seasoned directors and experienced senior and support staff on site, we work as a team, making sure we take care of each and every one of our campers.

Camp Tour Facilities and Location

The Archimedean Summer Camp uses the Facilities of Archimedean Schools located in the beautiful area of Horse Country, an agricultural oasis within the residential area of Kendall Miami, Dade County, Florida. The facilities provide several open fields for outdoor activities, sports, and exercise, tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, classrooms, Cafeterias, library, labs and, playgrounds.

The ACC Camp is an opportunity for wonderful new adventures, making friends, and learning through fun activities. By learning about the campers’ goals and needs, helping them have a wonderful time and formulate great memories, we engage with each child and we foster a sense of exploration, creativity, and growth. Whether the goal is to get involved in sports, to be creative and learn, make new friends, tackle homesickness or tell a great joke, our staff is there, listening and helping them every step of the way as they look after each child’s physical, mental, social and emotional well-being.

Directors & Staff

At the very core of ACC Camp is our staff, made up of teachers, education majors, college athletes, and coaches, among other young professionals. Our staff is carefully selected for their maturity, expertise, and passion for impacting the lives of children. All ACC staff is fingerprinted and drug tested by Miami Dade County Public Schools and the Department of Children and Families. Our senior staff is made up of mature and professional directors bringing to the ACC Camp expertise in the fields of childhood development, healthcare, program development, education, and more.

The importance of the outdoors is even greater now a days that students spend so much time in front of their computers.
The Archimedean Camp is the place to enjoy the physical and not the virtual interaction with their partners. It is the place to learn through real physical exercise experiences.

ACC offers healthy meals prepared daily in the cafeteria. We use quality ingredients to prepare a variety of balanced meals. Each meal consists of protein, grains, vegetables, fruit, and dairy products. We take pride in serving quality, healthy meals to our campers. Lunch is offered to our campers at no additional cost.

Dates and Time Schedule

Camp will run from June 12th – July 28th split into 3 biweekly sessions and 1 weekly session. Supervision begins no earlier than 7:00 a.m. and will end no later than 6:00 p.m. Camp activities will be from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Those campers who remain past 6:00 pm will be charged a fee of $1.00 each minute after 6:00 p.m. to be paid at pickup.

  • One time registration Fee: $100 ( non refundable)
  • Participation Fee Per Session: 2 Installments of $220 / week for a session of two weeks.
  • Participation includes: activities, sports, lunch & field trip cost for weeks 1, 3, 5, 7.
  • Field trips for weeks 2, 4, 6 cost TBD.
  • 10% discount for 2nd and additional siblings
  • 10% discount on the 2nd and consecutive sessions if:
    • Enrolled in more than 2 consecutive sessions &
    • All additional sessions are pre-paid in full
  • Hours of Operation: 7am – 6:00pm ($1 per minute after 6:00pm)

On-site Camp Q&A

  • The camp office will be open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. however, visitors are not permitted on Campus without appointment. (For Appointments, please fill out the appropriate form on this page)

The participation fee is $220 per week. And Registration fee $100.  Week 1 payment needs to be paid with the registration.

Camp drop-off takes place at the North East side door of Building A (Castle) by the cafeteria beginning at 7:00 a.m.

  • For safety reasons, a parent/guardian must accompany their child(ren) to the camp check-in every morning.
  • Campers are not allowed to sign themselves in.
  • Face masks are optional.
  • There is no refund due to absences or current week cancellations.
  • All campers must be picked up by 6:00 p.m. at the camp main entrance Building A (the Castle).
  • For safety reasons, campers will only be released to individuals on the original registration form. All individuals must present their State I.D. card. Once the I.D. has been verified, the child will be brought to you at the door.
  • All campers will remain in their assigned classrooms until their parent/guardian will request for them to be checked out. They will then be escorted to the gate by camp staff.

Parents are not permitted inside the buildings and into the Camp during the whole day and as long as the Camp is in progress.

We are constantly monitoring the updated guidelines in regards to Covid-19 to ensure that the policies implemented provide the safest environment for the campers.

Any Camper presenting symptoms of an illness

  • Will be monitored in an isolated area until picked-up. We will be implementing CDC Guidelines for the appropriate measures to notify families, disinfect rooms, and when to return to camp.
  • Parents picking up students due to illness will have a 30-minute time limit for arrival following notification. Symptoms that will result in a child being sent home include (but are not limited to):
  • A fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher
  • Coughing
  • Headache
  • Upset stomach, vomiting, or diarrhea.
  • A child needs to be symptom-free (and in the event of fever must be fever free without the aid of fever-reducing medication) for 24 hours.

It is our policy in order to protect our campers and staff and we will be following:

  • Campers are encouraged but not obligated to wear their own masks and have spare masks on a daily basis.
  • Individual disinfectant is recommended.

Proper handwashing and hygiene are a priority at Archimedean Summer Camp.

  • Our staff will be attentive in reminding and teaching campers about hand washing.
  • Campers will be taking scheduled hand washing breaks hourly in addition to after using the bathroom, before lunch, snack, and after hands-on activities.
  • Camp measures also include hand sanitizer stations accessible in each classroom and outside common areas.

All Campers will be given opportunities to use the restroom when needed.

  • We will be routinely disinfecting the restrooms throughout the day.

Maintenance staff will be cleaning/disinfecting classroom, restroom and cafeteria areas, doorknobs desks and surfaces commonly touched by the students and guests before, during, and after camp hours, according to the CDC Guidelines.

Your child will be required to bring a small to a medium-sized plastic bin to store their personal belongings.

  • Your child is allowed to bring toys or electronics from home.
  • In order to prevent virus transmission, we recommend for campers not to share their belongings.
  • ACC Summer will not take any responsibility for the loss, destruction, or theft of personal items your child may bring to camp. Please make sure to label everything with your child’s name.
  • The camp will make every reasonable attempt to safeguard camper possessions.

For sanitation purposes and in order to minimize sharing

  • Campers are asked to bring a labeled small to the medium-sized bin. We will use these bins to store all of their personal items.
  • Each camper must bring in a labeled water bottle, as the use of the water fountains will be limited.
  • Individual disinfectant is recommended.

There are a wide variety of activities offered. Our program includes activities 
that are educational, recreational, and age-appropriate.

  • Outdoors activities include sports, games, and field trips.
  • Our indoor activities to name a few include arts & crafts,
 indoor games, movies, baking, cooking, and a variety of in-house presentations.

Virtual Greek Language Intensive Program
June 20th to July 28th 2023

This program is intended for incoming grades 6-12.

Technology and social distancing have changed our view of an instructional approach. Our Archimedean Schools’ experience makes ACC confident to provide an academically rich and challenging instructional summer program remotely, in a through zoom platform direct and live instruction environment.

  • Our Approach
    Developmentally based and with a hands-on approach learning program, allows ACC to offer the age-appropriate experience to an introduction of the Greek Language to the new students of the school.
  • Our Summer 2023 Virtual Program Approach
    Certified, experienced, and dedicated teachers of Archimedean Schools
    will ensure that through 6 weeks of the complete summer program our students will meet their full potential.
  • Material and Instructional setting
    Students will have the opportunity to go from the Greek Alphabet to reading Greek and small talk. Students will enjoy live class sessions in a small group setting of a minimum of 5 students per group.
  • Sessions
    The instructional time is two hours per day four times a week.
  • Individualized Learning
    This virtual and interactive learning environment is student-centered and academically individualized to meet the needs of each child.
  • Subjects Offered
    This year we are offering instruction of intensive Greek Language for Middle and High School students.

Virtual Camp Program Dates and Time Schedule

Remote instruction will start on June 20th and run for 6 weeks. The individual instruction schedule will be communicated to students directly.

Classes will be taught Monday through Thursday 10 am – 12 pm. Fridays are off-days.

Zoom will be the online platform to be used. 

Greek classes are subject to cancellation in the event that the number of enrolled students is below 5.

Online Program Q&A

Our online program was designed to closely resemble an on-site instructional setting.

  • The online students will have access to their teachers based on their schedule.
  • We will maintain a low teacher-to-student ratio with a minimum of 5 students per class.
  • Parents will have ongoing support from the classroom teachers and direct communication with our school administrators.
  • Virtual events such as parent orientations are not scheduled throughout the program.

All of our teachers hold a bachelor’s degree in-field with a percentage of our faculty holding advanced and Master’s degrees. Our teachers participate in ongoing professional development throughout the year. They all have clear criminal records having gone through MDCPS fingerprinting and drug testing process.

We currently offer Intensive Greek Language for students 6-12 grade.

Each student will need a computer with internet access. The computer would also need a camera and microphone for the daily, live class sessions. Instruction will be live through zoom. Zoom shall be installed on the student’s computer or pad.

Forty-five-minute live class sessions are offered to all students,  Monday through Thursday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Fridays are off days. Individual schedules will be provided following registration to the program.

Yes, depending on your child’s needs, our qualified teachers will provide students of all ages with the individualized attention they require to acquire the needed knowledge and understanding of the subject through the program selected.

Our program consists of 6 weeks of instruction. It is best for your child to complete the full program in order to have a coherent understanding of the subject to be taught.

While the teachers provide daily lessons through live class sessions, parental supervision is important to ensure students arrive at daily classes on time, complete their assignments, and take their online assessments. Once enrolled, you have agreed to partner with ACC online teachers to accomplish the task of successfully educating your child. This very powerful partnership includes daily parental involvement, consistent monitoring of student progress, and frequent communication with our teachers.

We encourage live participation in classes, and attendance will be taken daily. In the event of an absence due to illness or an unforeseen circumstance, a recorded session will not be available.

No, uniforms are not required however, students should be wearing school appropriate attire.
