School Accountability Reports Announced; A.U.C. At The Very Top In The State

On Thursday, June 30th, the Florida Department of Education announced the 2011 School Accountability reports, including Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) reports and school grade reports. We are very pleased to inform you that the students of Archimedean Upper Conservatory ranked at the very top once again.

According to the school grade report, the Upper Conservatory not only maintained its rating as an A school but based on the total points earned by each school, ranked number one (1st) in the Miami-Dade district and second (2nd) among all high schools in the entire state of Florida!
The highly selective Pine View school for gifted students in Sarasota ranked first in the state. These reports take into account the student’s performance in reading, mathematics, writing, and science as well as the students’ progress compared to last year and the progress of the lowest 25% of the students in each school. This reflects the continuous dedication of the school’s faculty to each individual student.

Based on the AYP report, the Upper Conservatory was one of only six high schools in Miami-Dade that met 100% of all criteria included in the report. Even more notably, A.U.C. is one of only two high schools in Miami-Dade (the other being Young Women’s Preparatory Academy) that has met 100% of the criteria for the past three years!

You can access school and district reports here.

Once again, congratulations to all the students, faculty and staff, and the parents of the Upper Conservatory for these amazing results.
